International Connection
Seminary Group Supports Ghana Women’s Project
During a trip to Ghana in January, members of a Union-PSCE travel seminar met an inspiring woman, Mercy Oduyoye, and witnessed her work with the Ghana Women’s Project. Now back on campus the students and faculty leaders, Frances Taylor Gench and Karen Marie Yust, want to support their sisters in Ghana.
During a chapel service on April 9, students, faculty, and staff contributed to an offering of over $500 for the woman’s project, which is constructing the Talitha Qumi Centre at Trinity Theological College in Legon. This Centre will house an auditorium, library, and women’s dorm wing, and will serve as a safe haven for women’s theological conversation. It will be the site for the Institute of Women in Religion and Culture’s Pan African conferences on women’s issues. You can read more about this project on the PC(USA) website.
